Simplicity 1538

PATTERN REVIEW

Pattern Description: Misses shirt with sleeve and fabric variations

US 6,8,10,12, 14 Euro Pattern Sizing 32-40:

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Had to read through the front band application guide a couple of times as it only talked about one piece!

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the fit and the collar shape

Fabric Used: A very cheap cotton which I regret using as it is bound to run badly when washed. But this is a practice make so no probs.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None needed.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes.

Conclusion: I will make a couple more shirts from this pattern. It will make a good staple in my unmatched wardrobe and I hope to use solid colours to wear under jackets jumpers etc.

Nip and a tuck!

So chuffed with myself for actually doing some dressmaking felt inspired to show it off!  Not much but its a start back on the dressmaking trail.  Should be thinking about Christmas sewing but hey ho, there is nowhere to go just at the mo so making the most!

Hope you like my effort here, sewing therapy is a great thing!

Simplicity 8454, lovely pattern but I had to really squeeze it out, due to raiding my “to make” fabric stash.   As a result the neck binding is not on the bias, still I can live with it or grow my hair to cover up!
